Tillage Impacts on Initial Soil Erosion in Wheat and Sainfoin Fields under Simulated Extreme Rainfall Treatments

چکیده

The main aim of this research was to determine the potential effects different tillage systems (TT: traditional and RT: reduced tillage) on runoff erosion at two locations (Kahramanmaras Tarsus, Southern Turkey) under (i) fallow, (ii) wheat (Triticumaestivum L.), (iii) sainfoin (Onobrychissativa L.) crops. Rainfall simulations with intensity 120 mm h?1 30-min duration, representing a typical extreme thunderstorm in area, were used. We quantified elapsed time generation (ET), total volume (R), soil loss (SL), sediment concentration (SC), coefficient (RC). At both locations, fallow plots indicated first response ranging between 1.2 3.1 min, while range 9.4 8.9 min for plots. highest recorded parcel Tarsus (57.7%), lowest Kahramanmaras (4%). For study sites, showed higher rates (871 29.21 g m?2) compared (307 11.25 m?2), losses (93.68 3.45 Kahramanmaras, respectively. Runoff yield generated from parcels RT system less than TT location. location, effect water insignificant planted successful reducing growing but found be very high constructed

soil erosion under simulated rainfall in loess lands with emphasis on land-use, slope and aspect

the runoff generation and soil erosion in the kechik watershed, golestan province, was assessed, using a designed and constructed portable rainfall simulator. treatments were applied on different land-uses, slopes and aspects as the most influential factors. results showed that land-use significantly affected runoff generation (13.35 l, 6.9 l, and 4.12 l, respectively for agriculture, forest an...

Integrative impacts of soil tillage on crop yield, N use efficiency and greenhouse gas emission in wheat-corn cropping system

Wheat-corn cropping system is one of the most important grain production systems in theworld. However, the integrative impacts of soil tillage on crop yield, N use efficiency (NUE)and greenhouse gases (GHGS) emissions are not well documented in this system. Thus, a twoyear field experiment was carried out in a typical wheat-corn cropping system with four tillageregimes during the wheat season, ...

Investigation of Rainfall-Runoff Processes and Soil Moisture Dynamics in Grassland Plots under Simulated Rainfall Conditions

The characteristics of rainfall-runoff are important aspects of hydrological processes. In this study, rainfall-runoff processes and soil moisture dynamics at different soil depths and slope positions of grassland with two different row spacings (5 cm and 10 cm, respectively, referred to as R5 and R10) were analyzed, by means of a solution of rainfall simulation experiments. Bare land was also ...

The effect of surface rock fragments deployment pattern on soil erosion processes under simulated conditions

Extended abstract 1- Introduction The Soil surface characteristics have significant effects on the erosion process. The wide areas of watershed soil surfaces are covered with considerable amounts of rocks and pebbles. Surface rock fragments, resulting in water connectivity, change during the erosion process. Rock fragments on the soil surface may increase the infiltration and reduce soil loss...
